Hi beautiful,
Before we move into a new year together, I want to share something personal — something that shaped not just me, but the future of Active Elite.
Last year, life became heavier than I expected.
Between being a mum, a wife, and a business owner, I found myself juggling more than my heart and body could hold. Like so many women — especially women in their 30s, 40s and 50s — I tried to push through. I tried to smile through the exhaustion. I tried to be “fine.”
But the truth is… I was burning out.
I could feel myself slipping into survival mode. My energy was low, my motivation was scattered, and I didn’t feel connected to the woman I knew I was.
And so, for the first time since taking over Active Elite, I pressed pause.
Not because I wanted to abandon anything — but because I desperately needed to protect my wellbeing, my mental health, and the mission behind this brand.
The mission that reminds women they deserve comfort, confidence, and clothing that honours the real bodies they live in.
Why I Needed to Step Back
Burnout doesn’t always look dramatic.
Sometimes it looks like:
- quietly feeling overwhelmed
- losing joy in the things you once loved
- being everything to everyone
- forgetting where you fit in your own life
- going through the motions without feeling grounded
I know so many women — especially mums — will understand this deeply.
I stepped back so I could breathe again.
I stepped back to reconnect with who I was beneath the roles, obligations and expectations.
I stepped back because I wanted Active Elite to feel aligned, honest, and heart-driven — not rushed or reactive.
During my time away, I focused on rest, recovery, and reconnection.
And slowly, the fog lifted.
What I Learned While I Was Away
Stepping away gave me clarity that I couldn’t access when I was exhausted.
Here are the three truths that reshaped everything for me — and for Active Elite:
1. Women don’t need pressure — they need support.
Whether it’s activewear, routines, wellness, or body confidence…
we thrive when we feel held, not pushed.
This is why our Everyday Empower Collection was created in the first place — to support real women through real days.

2. Comfort is a form of self-care.
The clothes we wear affect how we feel — emotionally and physically.
When you slip into leggings that don’t dig, don’t roll, and don’t make you self-conscious…
something shifts inside you.
You stand taller.
You breathe deeper.
You move with more ease.
This is the energy I’m bringing into every new product we create.
3. We rise when we honour our real lives, not unrealistic expectations.
Our community — women like Sarah — don’t need to chase perfection.
They need space to be human.
Space to rest.
Space to show up exactly as they are.
Active Elite will always be a home for women who want confidence without pressure… movement without judgement… and activewear that supports their lifestyle — not a fantasy version of it.
